3rd – Andy Woon’s New All Stars
REVIEWS:
Malcolm and Gary: “An evening of gentle jazz, mainly driven by Nils Solberg’s guitar. A standing-up band (except Nils) without amplification (except Nils). A great evening, which we would like repeated soon.”
Anon: “Four very accomplished musicians, providing pleasant music in a laid back style.”
Lesley and Roger: “Four very talented musicians playing a wide selection of tunes from the 1920’s to 1950’s with only the guitar amplified, made for a very entertaining evening of easy listening jazz, with lots of toe tapping numbers in between. Especially liked Andy’s Stardust and Nils’ vocals. Hope they can come back soon.”
Phil, Tony, Linda &John: “Wonderful musicians. What a pleasure. Outstanding entertainment.”
Bob & Veronica: “Excellent, nice to have an acoustic band for a change and no drummer! Sometimes bands without a drummer can be a bit slack, but the guitar and base kept it together very well. Their blend together was excellent and the band made a nice change.”
John, Gwyn and John: “A nice relaxing, easy listening evening. Especially liked River Boat Shuffle.“

17th – Sarah Spencer’s Transatlantic Jazz – Christmas Party
Reviews:
Since it was the Christmas party night, Survey forms were not distributed. But the Webmaster makes the following comments:
“Sarah’s band did us proud with a great performance showing lots of energy and musicality. With a line up of herself mainly with a saxophone, then ‘Magic’ Mike Henry on cornet, Rob Pearce on trombone, Graham Smith on drums, Jim Swinnerton on string bass and last, but no means least, a warm welcome to Dicky White on banjo for his first time at the Club – what could go wrong.”
