Reviews:
Julia & Mark: “We have seen exuberance, we have seen stamina, excellence, creativity, and joy. We’ve heard phenomenal piano and glorious reeds. A band fantastic individually, joyous in how they inspire each other and jam. We feel lucky and privileged for this evening. Particularly liked How Can You Leave Me Now and Fidgety Feet (amazing drum solo), Sugar babe in Danish and the best “Blueberry Hill” ever. Thank you. Thank you. Please come back!”
Kevin & Roger: “Ten out of Ten for all in the band”
Bob P: “Very slick. It makes a big difference having a band that doesn’t have lots of pregnant pauses and messing about. Have them back with the same line up.”
Gary, Veronica & Malcolm: “The two musicians from Denmark, Paul Harrison (clarinet and soprano & alto sax) and Soren Stausbol (keyboard & vocal) carried the night in the absence of Kevin. A brilliant evening with lots of energy and a great choice of tunes. Please have them back with or without Kevin.”
Tony B: “I enjoyed the simpler sound without a trumpet or trombone, and a real variety of tunes. Also enjoyed the synch playing between the piano and reeds, with many familiar tunes and songs. Terrific piano playing by a man who clearly loves performing.”
Lesley & Roger: “A great evenings’ entertainment, made even more special as Kevin’s forced absence, due to car problems, meant the whole programme must have been rearranged in an hour or so. That so many people enjoyed the whole evening is a great tribute to the musicianship of all four players involved, especially Paul and Soren.
Juliette, Yvonne & Rosemary: “A slick professional performance by a group depleted in numbers. Delivered with a nice sense of humour. We particularly enjoyed the keyboard player and his vocals.”
