3rd<\/sup> – Martin Bennett’s Old Green River Band<\/p>\n

REVIEWS<\/strong>:
John & Maureen Carter: \u201cConsiderable change of personnel since the last visit by this popular band, including John Maddocks depping on reeds.  Super driving bass plus swinging front line and Martin on blues piano made a brilliant evening.\u201d
Barry Lomax, Trish M & Joy Cox: \u201cA great entertaining band with a good repertoire.\u201d
Keith & Anita Holmes: \u201cGreat band \u2013 singing was very good.  Good mix of tunes.  Bass player excellent.\u201d
Bob & Stella: \u201cGood band \u2013 very entertaining and lively with lots of energy and variety.  The evening flowed nicely.\u201d
Lesley & Roger: \u201cGreat selection of music played by a talented group of musicians made a very entertaining evening.  And Martin remembers the American ships on the Manchester Ship Canal and that makes two of us.\u201d
Malcolm & Tessa: \u201cGreat evening.  Howard Worthington on electric bass and great vocals plus Will Robinson and of course John Maddocks.  Martin has a great voice too.  Very entertaining.\u201d
Robert & Brenda Davenport: \u201dBrilliant evening with great swinging improvisation.  Can we have them back again soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

John & Brenda Bugg: \u201cThis band does what it says on the tin, taking us back to jazz roots and entertaining us, enjoyably.  Superb musicians, simple style, smashing evening.\u201d
Nick & Heather Anderson and Carole Mort: \u201cA well established band playing all the jazz favourites.  Extremely brilliant.\u201d
Gill, Richard, Gwyn & John: \u201cShame about the Teapots.  However, Acoustic Jass provided us with an excellent night\u2019s entertainment, with some \u2018different\u2019 singing.\u201d
Malcolm, Tessa & Joy: \u201cGreat entertainment.  Welcome to Dave Cummings, depping on Banjo.  Lots of old favourites made for a super evening.\u201d
John & Maureen Carter: \u201cThe best dressed jazz band on the south coast playing, in the \u2018Temperance Seven\u2019 style, a wide range of jazz tunes.\u201d

<\/strong>John & Brenda Bugg: \u201cDespite a dep. drummer, the rhythm section hummed and thrummed beautifully. \u00a0Hugh Crozier always a delight and Jim Swinnerton on Bass smashed it. \u00a0Jesper the Danish clarinettist was as solid as a a kilo of Lurpak and Mike Henry shows why he\u2019s called \u2018Magic\u2019. \u00a0All round Jazz sound.\u201d
Julia Hubery & Mark Willis: \u201cWe feel privileged to hear such fantastic energy and playing both ensemble and solos. \u00a0Especially liked There\u2019s a House for Sale in Harlem <\/em>and the clarinet duet.\u201d
Yvonne, Juliette & Malcolm: \u201cGreat evening of entertainment. \u00a0Very professional \u2013 excellent musicians and varied repertoire. \u00a0Especially liked Jesper\u2019s rendition of The Old<\/em> Rugged Cross<\/em>.\u201c

Nick, Heather & Carole: \u201cA very popular band playing at their usual high standard, including some rarely heard tunes.\u00a0 As always \u2013 very brilliant \u201c
